Introduction

Elio House is a major renovation and extension on the Gold Coast, styled as a hybrid European farmhouse — reworking a home around its original footprint, with bulk earthworks, landscaping and a new outdoor entertaining area, plus an existing shed converted into a granny flat and a second shed added.

The Brief

The brief for Elio House was a major renovation rather than a rebuild, with the design direction landing on a hybrid European farmhouse — working closely with the client through design to make the most of the home's original footprint before committing to an extension. The scope grew from there to take in the whole property: bulk earthworks and landscaping, a new outdoor entertaining area, converting an existing shed into a granny flat, and adding a second shed.

The Result

Delivered as a full design and construct project, Elio House balances a considered, hybrid European farmhouse extension with a property-wide transformation — earthworks, landscaping and outdoor entertaining alongside the new granny flat and second shed. It's a home, and a property, reshaped around how the client actually wanted to live, without losing what worked about the original footprint.
